If you want stronger, more manageable, and shinier hair, Hair Actives come to your rescue – 3 concentrated solutions for unruly manes! Let's take a closer look at their features, how to use them, and who can benefit from them.

They are lightweight and suitable for all hair types, providing nourishment to both the strands and the roots: they are the new Hair Actives from La Saponaria, here to revitalize our hair and make it shine like never before. They are:

  • Vegetable Keratin: a spray treatment based on plant proteins that restructures and strengthens the hair without weighing it down, ideal for fragile and thin hair. Provides strength and volume.
  • Fruit Acids AHA: an active spray with alpha hydroxy acids derived from fruit to give new strength and shine to the hair. Perfect as an anti-frizz solution.
  • Vegetable Silicone + Amla: a dry-touch oil that disciplines and restructures, to be used for styling as well as pre-shampoo restructuring masks.

Let's take a closer look at them and discover why they will become our must-haves!

Vegetable Keratin

Vegetable Keratin is a restructuring and volumizing Hair Active. It's ideal for bleached, fine, and easily breakable hair, suitable for all those manes in need of volume and strength.

The spray treatment, in fact, restructures the hair shaft, preventing and reducing breakage, making it thicker and shinier for a healthy and voluminous mane.

Ideal for all hair types, curly and straight, thanks to its lightweight texture specifically designed to avoid the feared "product build-up" on the hair.

Enriched with rose hydrosol and cornflower hydrosol for shiny hair and a burst of floral energy. Here are the main characteristics of Vegetable Keratin:

  • Restructures the hair shaft and makes it thicker and shinier.
  • Prevents and reduces hair breakage.
  • Provides a healthy and voluminous mane.
  • Its lightweight texture makes it ideal for all hair types.
Why is it important to use products with keratin?

Keratin is naturally present in the hair, but over time, keratin production can decrease for various reasons:

  • Exposure to sunlight, saltwater, and pollution
  • Stress
  • Smoking
  • Blow-drying, permanent dyes, and treatments
  • Hormones, genetic factors, and diet
Damage or a decrease in keratin can make the hair appear frizzy, damaged, dry, prone to breakage, and with split ends.

That's why it's important to replenish it with specific products that contain it. However, the keratin used in traditional cosmetics is often of animal origin, derived from feathers, manes, hooves, and horns of various animals. There are, however, plant-based alternatives!

Active ingredients: plant-based keratin

Our plant-based keratin is rich in peptides, oligopeptides, and polypeptides targeted at restructuring and repairing the hair, protecting it from oxidative damage. It contains a significant amount of cysteine and sulfur.

The restructuring effect is also ideal after dyeing. Its use effectively prevents hair breakage and the formation of split ends by restoring the three-dimensional structure of the hair.

The volumizing effect on the mane is derived from the fact that each individual hair increases in thickness and, consequently, in volume. This is clearly visible through microscopic observation. As a result of the treatment, the hair is then restructured and appears more voluminous.

How to use Vegetable Keratin

Apply to damp hair for at least 4 weeks and proceed with styling. Avoid contact with the eyes.

For whom is it indicated

Vegetable Keratin is the ideal treatment for hair in need of volume and shine! Perfect for all hair types, especially for those that are fine and prone to breakage.

Fruit Acids AHA

Fruit Acids AHA is an Anti-Frizz and Shine Hair Active spray.

Its superpower lies in its anti-limestone and anti-salt effect and its slightly acidic pH that seals the hair cuticles, making the hair silky and manageable. It has a scent of orange blossoms and is enriched with nettle and plant proteins for a strengthening effect.

Active ingredients: AHA Fruit Acids

AHA stands for alpha hydroxy acids, water-soluble acids primarily derived from fruits. In cosmetics, they are among the most used ingredients for formulating chemical peels suitable for exfoliating the skin and accelerating cell turnover. Some of the most well-known AHAs include glycolic acid (the strongest), lactic acid, malic acid, mandelic acid, tartaric acid, and citric acid.

The extracts contained in our mix of alpha hydroxy acids are not only effective but also come from a truly sustainable source!
They are recovered from unused parts of the agri-food industry, specifically:

  • Tartaric acid obtained from organic grape skins from Emilia
  • Citric acid from Sicilian lemon extract
  • Malic acid from Trentino apple extract
  • Enzymatic extracts from organic wheat bran from the Po Valley and red grapes from Emilia

AHAs also perform an important anti-limestone and anti-salt function, crucial for a glossy and silky mane.

Why is it important to use hair products with AHA?

From a functional point of view, AHAs contain natural polysaccharides and antioxidant molecules that:

  • Nourish the hair
  • Protect it from oxidative damage from the sun and pollution
  • Perform an anti-limestone and anti-salt function, crucial for a glossy and silky mane.

Calcium and limestone deposits can fade hair color, while sea salt can lead to dehydration of the hair shaft, making it dry and fragile.

Effectively removing lime and salt is a crucial step in keeping hair healthy and beautiful, especially during and after the summer.

In combination with an acidic pH, they help:

  • Make the hair shine and tame it
  • Combat frizz
  • Protect the natural hair color
  • Extend the duration and intensity of dyes.
How to use Fruit Acids AHA on your hair?

Apply the spray treatment to damp or dry hair and proceed with styling. It is ideal to use as an acidic rinse. To learn more about acidic rinsing, you can read our article here.

Who is it for?

Ideal for all hair types to give a new light to your hair and tame it! A must-have during the summer and post-summer when hair is subjected to repeated stress and exposure to seawater.

Vegetable Silicone + Amla

Vegetable Silicone + Amla is a lightweight oil with a dry and silky touch that can tame your hair in a single pass.

It's a common belief that "nothing makes hair as beautiful as silicones." This sentiment, dating back a few years, has some truth in the fact that silicones on hair can reduce frizz and make them silky. They do this by creating a barrier that retains water inside the hair. However, in the long run, this barrier prevents the normal oxygenation and hydration of the hair: water doesn't exit, water doesn't enter, and the hair doesn't breathe. That's why in the long term, the barrier effect on hair tends to dry them out, making them heavy, lacking volume, and more prone to getting dirty.

Over time, organic and natural products have reached increasingly better standards, managing to match the performance of silicones on hair without the long-term negative effects! One of the ingredients we can add to our hair routine to have disciplined and silky hair is now Vegetable Silicone + Amla.

How to use Vegetable Silicone + Amla?

Just pour a few drops into the palm of your hand and apply it to dry hair, distributing it carefully. Focus on the lengths and ends, especially in case of dryness. Ideal for styling but also for restyling your hair in the days after washing.

It can also be used as a mask on the lengths and ends, leaving it on for 15 minutes, or as a scalp mask to strengthen the hair and purify the scalp: massage, leave it on for at least 15 minutes, and then shampoo.

Who is it for?

Ideal for all hair types, especially for those with dry and frizzy hair.
