Brufolo Kill is the fastest serum in the west! It is a localized treatment to be applied on pimples based on succinic acid, shikimic acid and kaolin. Hamamelis and upcycling nettle

Key ingredients of the Impure Skin Line, due to their purifying and soothing power, are witch hazel and nettle, added to the formula in  the form of Constitutional Active Waters. These ingredients come from circular recovery by Valverbe, a historic mountain cooperative that has been producing organic herbal teas since 1985. During the cold drying of flowers and plants to make their herbal teas, the derived water is recovered (upcycling) and becomes an ingredient precious for our cosmetics: this special gentle extraction process makes it possible to recover the water contained in the cell membrane of the plant without damaging it, thus obtaining an elixir full of energy and active ingredients!

Succinic acid

Among the most talked about active ingredients of the moment there is certainly the Succinic acid, particularly appreciated by acneic skins for various reasons. Studies have shown significant activity of succinic acid against one of the bacteria responsible for the formation of acne, Propionibacterium Acnes. It is the ideal ally for treating combination skin, also thanks to its smoothing action: it counteracts imperfections and spots, also due to age, it helps to make wrinkles and scars left by acne less evident, it makes the complexion uniform. Succinic acid has a high regenerating power but at the same time it is dermocompatible and non-photosensitizing. Gently and effectively helps skin regeneration by gently exfoliating, making the skin bright and toned. Finally, it helps to counteract free radicals by carrying out an antioxidant and anti-aging action.

Azelaic acid

Azelaic acid is a natural substance produced by a yeast normally present in the skin flora; it is also found naturally in wheat, rye and barley. It is among the most used substances in anti-acne treatments thanks to its bactericidal and bacteriostatic action against the microorganisms found on the superficial layers of the epidermis, causing the characteristic skin lesions of acne. The delicate exfoliating action that characterizes it makes it excellent for treating and lightening pimple spots and making the skin brighter and more uniform.

Shikimic acid

Shikimic Acid is extracted from star anise and is ideal for counteracting skin imperfections. The most recent studies have highlighted an inhibitory action of shikimic acid against Propionibacterium Acnes which, as we know, is one of the main bacteria responsible for acne. It also has the ability to regulate the production of sebum. It is also a delicate exfoliant that favors skin turnover without irritating the skin, making the complexion uniform and luminous.

Rice powder

It has marked refreshing, soothing and sebum-regulating properties, without drying the skin. For this reason, rice powder is a valid aid for oily skin that tends to become shiny as it absorbs excess sebum and has a powerful rebalancing effect. The skin appears uniform and silky to the touch and ready to be the perfect base for long-lasting make-up.

Stories of the supply chain: ethical essential oils

Our cosmetics contain effective ingredients, good for the skin and the environment but they are also magical! They hide local and ethical stories that smell of craftsmanship and social value. For example, the Sweet Orange Essential Oil present in Deep Pure and Pimple Kill comes from
from a Sicilian company, which works in full respect of the raw material, in order to guarantee excellent quality and to preserve their many properties. Their essential oils are of the highest quality, fully traceable and some, such as those chosen by us, are certified organic.
Finally, our tea tree essential oil, among the ingredients of Deep Pure and Pimple Kill, comes from a fair trade project in Africa, which promotes cultural and social initiatives such as the one aimed at literacy in rural areas.

Salicylic acid: why we didn't include it in our formulas

Salicylic Acid could be considered a major absentee in our Impure Skin Line, given its current popularity in anti-blemish treatments, but instead we have chosen not to include it in our formulas for specific reasons, first of all that it is currently an ingredient under observation to be a possible endocrine disruptor. As a precautionary principle, since we care about the health of our customers, we have chosen different and safer ingredients that can replace their function. Given its possible criticality, our CCPB certifying body admits its use up to 0.5%, a percentage that makes it safe to use but effective only as a preservative and not useful from the point of view of functionality. We therefore decided to make a formula that went against the fashion of the moment but was safe over time, organic and effective.
