All objects have a value, some more than others! We don't like intensive cultivation and industrial production but we prefer small projects with an intense degree of love and passion! Here is our commitment to an ethical and supportive supply chain, which benefits the environment and the people who live there, as in the case of Lotus, our soap dish with an ethical heart.
As you know, here at La Saponaria we care about all those projects that have a high social value, which improve the living conditions of communities and represent an important grain for improving those around the world. For this reason, in our aware cosmetics you can often find the "fair trade supply chain" icon which signals the presence of at least one Fair Trade ingredient.
We love to carefully choose the raw materials that make up our cosmetics and, for this reason, when it is not possible to use local products as in the case of Argan Oil, we make sure that the ingredients that come from afar are not only of excellent quality and organic, but which are also part of Fair & Solidarity projects in support of less advantaged communities.
Sometimes, together with our cosmetics designed and produced in our perfumed laboratory in Pesaro, you can also find some accessory products which are the result of the artisanal work of communities in distant lands, as in the case of our Cotton make-up remover wipes and the new Lotus ceramic soap dish. Fair Trade projects are important because they guarantee fair compensation to the workers involved and very often part of the proceeds is reinvested in the local community in social projects aimed at promoting self-entrepreneurship.

Sensitive, thin, fragile: these are the characteristics shared by the skin of babies and newborns, still 'immature' compared to that of adults and therefore more subject to external aggressions. To have babies with always soft and healthy skin, small tricks and lots of loving care are necessary!
New mothers know it well: protecting their children's skin can be a real feat! Between redness, dryness and eczema, crying is always around the corner!

Summer is the perfect time to spend time outdoors with our little ones, whether it's a day at the beach or a trip to the mountains. Summer is finally here: time to dust off your lighter clothes and sunglasses! As the season changes, it is also very important to take care of our skin in a different way than in previous months, keeping in mind some precautions, and learning to use the right products for a correct summer beauty routine.
The skin is the largest organ of our body and is of enormous importance because it performs the relevant barrier function offering effective protection from external physical, chemical and thermal agents.
The skin is also a sense organ and let's not forget the importance it also has in everyone's social life, through the skin we transmit information, sensations and emotions.
That said, contrary to what we hear in commercials on TV and in newspapers, the skin does not get used to cosmetic products, but needs change based on seasonality, hormonal situation and psycho-physical conditions.
Especially in the hot seasons it is important to maintain a correct summer beauty routine by carefully monitoring the state of hydration, redness, sebaceous secretions and the appearance of pimples.
Summer is not exactly the season most loved by our hair! Between a sunbath and a dip in the sea or in the pool, you may notice that your hair has become duller, more brittle and dry. It's all the fault of the sun, heat, salt, chlorine and sweat that can attack the beauty of our hair and make it more difficult to tame.
To avoid having to deal with a drastic cut at the end of summer, you can intervene in time and take advantage of a few tips and the power of natural ingredients to nourish and restructure your hair and show off healthy and shiny hair all year round! Together we will discover why it is important to protect our hair before and after exposure to the sun
When it comes to sunscreens, for us at La Saponaria, safety is the top priority!
That's why every sunscreen that comes out of our laboratory is formulated with great care, in full respect of the skin and the environment. and is subjected to scrupulous tests which analyze its characteristics and performance, establishing its conformity with an unquestionable opinion.
'Osolebio: green and 100% safe formulas
Our Osolebio solar line is made with the best possible ingredients! How do we know? Because, after having thoroughly studied the regulations governing the placing on the market of sunscreens, we have dedicated ourselves to the meticulous research of the most effective sunscreens without however making any compromises regarding the well-being of our skin.
In fact, the sunscreens that are on the market can be of two types: chemical sunscreens and physical sunscreens.
Chemical sunscreens, also called organic filters, are synthetic substances that are able to absorb part of the UV radiation to prevent it from reaching and damaging the epithelial cells. Compared to physical filters, chemical sunscreens have a more comfortable application and are therefore easier to spread on the skin but, on the other hand, precisely because they capture solar energy, they can give rise to irritation, phototoxicity and sensitization.
Physical sunscreens, also known as inorganic filters, are shielding substances that act thanks to their opacity. Their modus operandi is very similar to that of a mirror: the mineral particles reflect UVA and UVB rays and prevent them from coming into contact with the skin and damaging it. Not only that, since they do not absorb solar energy, physical filters are particularly safe for skin health and the risk of incurring sensitization is much lower than chemical filters (to learn more about the characteristics and differences between chemical and physical sunscreens, you can click here).
For these reasons, we have chosen to use only the latest generation physical filters in the formulations of 'Osolebio sunscreens, excluding any petrochemical ingredient. Each recipe also contains precious protective plant extracts and antioxidants which enhance the effect of the product and take care of the skin, keeping it soft and hydrated.
Every year we look forward to summer to enjoy a few days at the beach, lie down in the sun and get rid of the gray winter days and every year we hear the usual recommendations repeated: protect yourself, be careful of solar radiation, don't expose yourself to the sun during the hottest hours... why? What do we need to protect ourselves from? What are the physiological mechanisms that lead to the longed-for tan? Let's find out in this study on the importance of sunscreen.
The importance of sunscreen: what should it protect us from?
Solar radiation is generated by thermonuclear reactions that take place inside the core of the sun and are divided into frequencies or wavelengths.
Depending on the wavelength occupied by the radiation, we can distinguish three different types:
